Challenge: Spot the Water Spots

 
We are running a Nail Art Challenge throughout the month of March where you could win a $100 Gift Card!
All March, every 4 days we will have a new Nail Art technique for you to attempt and then post your creations for a chance to win. We are going to have 2 Grand Prize Winners, each will receive a $100 Gift Card to spend on any products on our site WhatsUpNails.com and in store in Chandler Mall (Arizona, USA). One winner will be selected from each of the following entry methods:
  1. on Instagram, upload your photo on your Instagram page with tags @whatsupnails and #whatsupnailsMarch
  2. in our Facebook group WhatsUpNailsFanGroup, upload your photo to technique album in the group

18-21 March Challenge - Water Spotting. Create a fun look that resembles marble stone or sea foam effect!
What you'll need:
  • Base polish color.
  • Polishes that spread in water (fresh cremes work best).
  • Aerosol Spray with alcohol (hair spray, hand sanitizer works best).
  • Liquid latex nail tape or tape.
  • Small cup (plastic/dixie cups work great - or a cup you don't care about).
  • Water.
How To:
  • Place water in a cup and set aside.
  • Apply your base color. Let dry.
  • Line the skin around your nails with tape or liquid latex to make clean up easier.
  • Take your polish for water spotting and put one drop into the water. For more intensity of the color, drop 2 or more drops in the same spot after the previous drop spreads.
  • Working quickly, take your alcohol spray and while holding away from the cup spray over top of water, you should see the polish breaking up.
  • Dip your nail(s) into the water and pull out.
  • Repeat as needed to add different colors to the same color. Be sure to remove the polish out of the cup before doing a new layer.
  • Remove tape/liquid latex and apply your favorite glossy or matte top coat.

You do not have to post your nail photos for each technique if you are intimidated but this is a challenge! Try to challenge yourself to see if you can do all of them even if it is a technique, you're a little uncomfortable with.
Each post counts as an entry so the more nail art designs you do the more chances you will have to win. Make sure in each entry you use at least one product from one of the brands we carry on WhatsUpNails.com!
